192 getting Louder!! Why is this thing so noisy???

My 192 interface is getting unaceptably noisy from the fan. The unit is in a rack in my control room mixing environment and it is really very annoying. What can I do to remedy the noise situation and still keep it racked here in the room where I need it? It seems like it is getting noisier by the day.

open it and see if it requires cleaning, also make sure it's properly vented

The 192 needs proper air circulation. If you are facing the front panel, the air intake is on the right and the exhaust for heated air is on the left. Make sure there is adequate space if you have it rackmounted, or try removing it if it is in a flightcase. If it then performs quietly you know it is not getting enough cool air.

Turn the A/C to a cooler temperature.



But, if you've had the unit for a while, I'd suggest checking to see if it needs cleaning as mentioned above.
