DIGI001 and MBOX2 working together?

Hello everybody:

I have an old DIGI001, Great Board!!
And I will buy a new MBOX2 or MOX2 Pro, I didn’t decide yet.
I would like to know if using PTLE 7.x or 8.x with the DIGI001 and MBOX2 installed. Can I use both boards Or only the MBOX2?

Did somebody already try this?

sorry, i'm pretty sure that won't work. one digi interface at a time is all you can do.

Nope, either/or. Which is more important, 8 i/o with the 001 (and only up to PT 6.4)
or being able to upgrade all the way to PT 8 and have fewer inputs?

If I were you- I would simply upgrade the 001 to a 003 Rack it's only $795 to do this.

One great thing about being a Digi owner is that as you outgrow your hardware- you can upgrade : )

Since Mbox 2 will not work with 6.4, and the 001 will not work with any Pro Tools newer than 6.4, you are kind of stuck. The only scenario that might work is if the Mbox 2 would light up when attached to a powered USB hub(not connected to the computer at all). This would allow you to feed the 2 Mbox mic preamps into 2 line inputs of the 001 for an extra pair of preamps(turn the MIX knob all the way to DIRECT). Upgrading to a DIGI002 or 003 would not only allow you to run PT8, it would also allow you to take advantage of the increased power from the newer computers and multiple core CPU's.

Unfortunatedly I live in Argentina and the Local Digidesign Dealer denied to make the upgrade proposed on the page.

So, depeche_cerati, did you get to test both cards to see if they do work together? I was curious about the same thing, since I own both a digi001 and an mbox2.
