Default PTLE 6.4 - Digi001 - NTFS

Hi I bought a new PC.
I need to format a 40GB HD for WIN XP.
Can I use NTFS disk with PTLE6.4 and a DIGI001?

Thanks in advance

Yes on NTFS. Beware that Service Pack 2 was never officially qualified with the 001. There are however people here running 001 with SP2. Your risk. Personally I would try with SP2, its pretty important. Make sure to download the CS9 update and download the latest PACE drivers also.

Not true. The cs9 update for 6.4 was specifically written for SP2 compatibility.

It is true that NTFS is not a problem with the 001 and 6.4.

This the last info I could find on SP2 and the 001.

http://archive.digidesign.com/compato/xp/001/

Can you point to me to a link to where it says
SP2 is officially qualified with the 001? What info I found said 6.4 cs9 was qualified with the Mbox, the 002 and the 002R but not the 001. I want to make sure I'm right the next time someone asks.

I stand corrected.

From the cs9 update page:

"Although you may be able to use Service Pack 2 with Digi 001 and Pro Tools LE 6.4, it has not been tested and is therefore not officially qualified with Digi 001."

What ever defense I'm due, I will say, "the fix" has worked for many a 001 user... myself included.

Thanks, though, for correcting my mis-perception of that patch, sunburst79.

I would never run XP without Service Pack2 unless forced too

With DIGI udating the website I'm sure that there are some things lost between here and the archives, I thought that might have been the case with an official qualification of the 001 and SP2.

As far as I know other than the usual PACE interlock driver dance SP2 Is working fine with no known issues on the 001.

I just wanted the poster to know that it did not have Digi's official seal of approval.

And rightly so. With Digi you want to cross every "T" and dot every "I".
Thanks again.
