You may have to disable one of the Cores in Windows Task Manager also. I'm not sure on that. But if you found a deal on a smokin X2 processer and board, I would buy it. The same holds true if you can find a deal on a higher clocked single core bundle. Hopefully some one running a 001 with a X2 proc will chime in. If in doubt go single core. Just make sure the chipsets compatible.

Hi Vlad:

What video board are u using with DIGI001?

How was the installation of the new system? Easy? did u have to disable things in the mother?

BRGRDS
Very easy!
I did have to disable a bunch of stuff in the BIOS (network stuff, RAID controllers, etc.), but I disabled everything I was sure I wasn't going to use, so I'm not sure if there would have been conflicts...
I do recommend, however, that you install Windows with the default settings in your BIOS, or it won't recognize everything, then disable what you want, then install PT.
As far as video card, PT doesn't eat up much video power on it's own, so I just got the cheapest PCI-E card I could find that had a fan and dual monitor support. I think I found a PNY for around $50 after rebate.
Everything has been smooth sailing since.
For the 001, it is more power than I can utilize. I just hope it'll still hold up when I upgrade to a dual core chip and an 002/003.

I'll tell you first hand that I just build a new system with a AM2 socket and I'm getting H/W interrupt errors left and right. too low a buffer and I get (-9093) errors I move it up and I get (-9129) errors. At the moment I can't run a single second of audio before the errors fly. My setup is:
Athlon 64 X2 +3800
gigabyte MB GA-M61PM-S2
1GB RAM
SATA 3GB system drive
DIGI001

Thank for your reply.
But you have an Athlon 64 X2 and this is a known issue with the DIGI001. Sorry Man.

I still want to know if somebody tested the digi001 in a motherboard with soket AM2 with a single CORE CPU.

Thanks for the info. That at least saves me headache time trying to troubleshoot this. Since I already have all the equipment I'm going to buy a single core processor and try it out. I'll let you know what happens if you can wait a few days.

I just put in a Athlon 64 +3800 Single Core processor into the setup stated in my earlier post and PT seems to run smoothly with it. I opened my biggest project which pretty much pushes PT to it's audio and aux track limits. the project also has several Waves RTAS plugins running in it. CPU usage is hovering around 40-45%. I only ran it for a couple of minutes but compared to what I was going through with the dual core I'd say it works beautifully.
