Socket AM2 boards with Pro Tools LE

So it's official, I just got an ASUS MXNPV-VM motherboard to work seamlessly with Pro Tools on my Digi001. If I can do it on my 001, you can do it on your MBOX, 002, or firewire 1814. The results were stunning on a single processors system. I had to do some system altercation, but it works. So this system is under $600.

I had to modify my boot.ini file and use the current PACE Ilok Driver. I needed to change BOTH of those things to get past the blue screen of death.

I can't remember exactly everything I did, but there is a special hotfix from Microsoft to fix a dual core processor issue and a driver for the processor from AMD that were BOTH UNNECCESARY.

I flashed the BIOS of the motherboard to version 0303 to fix a HyperTransport issue.

And I disabled everything that I did not need in my device manager, msconfig, and BIOS.


68 Mono Dverbs on 1 3500+ processor. That's right. 1 processor. And not even a fast one. The 3500+ is a low end dual core Athlon. Imagine how many you can have with a 4800+...


So I hope this helps someone.

FYI, AudiomediaIII cards wont work on this socket. Maybe they will, but I kept getting DAE errors.
