BEST System For Digi001??

Hi Guys:

I was looking for the best tested system that could run with PTLE 6.4 and a Digi001.

I´ll buy a hard Disk SATA for sure, but I am still having some doubts with the Microchip and the MOBO. I am planning to use XP at least for one more year.

Do you have any status about the new CPU dual, X2 or Core DUO. Could I use one of them and select just one Core for PTLE?

What about the new MOBOs AM2 for AMD. Do they work?

Are you planning on using this computer with a 003 (or something else) in the future? If not, that would change the recommendations.

Protools 6.4 will only use one processer....

i just put together a new system using PT6.4 with my Digi001

A8N-SLI Motherboard (socket 939)
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ cpu
1GB PC3200 RAM

its working pretty well so far.

I am planning to use my old digi001 for a long time. ha, it is a very good hardware.

What about the diu processors, can I use the keeping PTLE in just one processor?

What about the New 940 chipset for AMD? (AM2)

Can the video board change the PTLE poerformance? Could u recomendme one? I am still using my 8megs AGP on my old Athlon 1,2.

I believe all you have to do is select to use one RTAS processer and you will be fine. I dont have a 001 so I'm not 100% positive on that though

You would go in under the "Setup" menu Click on "Playback Engine"and select 1 processer on the RTAS Processer Drop down menu.

Have you read ANY of the documentation? It's actually really importent. You need to actually read everything that related to your configuration. Spend a hour or two clicking links and reading. I can't stress this enough. I'm not trying to be mean or bust you down but in order for us to help you DO need to a minimal amount of reading. Do a search on "001" and see what comes up.
