580 -- sounds great, very comfortable, more expensive, but not sealed so could be a problem while tracking.
250 -- sounds decent (but not nearly as good as the 580s), very comfortable, sealed.
7506 -- in limited use, I've found them a bit hyped. Has a reputation for being not as durable as you might like. I'd get more info.
770 -- nice Beyer phones, sound very good, maybe not great for comfot in extended listening, sealed.

I use the Audio-Technica ATH M40 headphones- they have a nice flat signal and are butter-soft; extremely comfortable. Check em out

SENNHEISER HD-280 PROS
Excellent isolation for your application (something around 30dB reduction), with very comfortable cans that "seal" the ears. They are loud enough that you don't have to turn 'em up much.
Recorded a blues band in a living room recently using these cans and they were excellent. I highly recommend trying them out.

Hello,
Sorry I dont have any advice for you on a good headphone. I bought the Sony MDR 7506 in one
of the local music stores, on of the Clerks recomendation. I thought I was the only one who thought it was a bit of a "fatigue." It is really bad on the high end but I am living with it.

Hope I helped

I think the 7506 are extremly uncomfortable and very harsh on the high end. I use the Sennheiser 580 myself and like them for mixing and such. They are not very "in your face" but fairly transparent. Personally, I love the 280 Pro. Those have to be the most comfortable headphones I've ever tried. But I've never used them to mix something.

Full Compass is clearing out their AKG 270S headphones for $150. This is quite a bargain for a great set of headphones. I got some and I love them. They have good isolation, dual drivers, and a pretty flat response. You can trust them. They also have a great feature that deactivates them when you take them off your head. This means you don't have to worry about them bleeding into your mics when you're not using them.

The 7506 is a pretty good bang for the buck. I've used them for quite a while without fatigue. Give them a shot.
