Default 538 numbers spoken, how to rename them ?

Hi there,

I have recorded 1 long voice file in protools.
It begins with spoken "538" and ends with spoken "1".

I figured i have to do strip silence to make from each number a separate region.

But then i have to rename them so region-name "538" corresponds to the spoken "538" , etc, down to "1".

I read some posts on this forum about auto rename in protools but could someone please show me the detailed right way for this particular situation ?

Would be awesome.

Thx in advance !

I don't think it can be done automatically. If you started with one and ended with 538 then splicing the regions would be in proper order but I'm afraid you need to rename all those clips by hand. Sorry. I however would be glad to stand corrected if someone had a trick for this...

All you have to do is get the files in the clip list into proper order, once you strip silenced them. I.e. that "1" is at the top and "538" at the bottom. Then select all the files in the clip list, hit the little arrow to the right of "clips", select "auto rename...", starting number 1, number of places 3.

That's it. Had to do this a lot when editing takes for video games. 9000+ takes - would have died without this feature.

Best,

Rob.

Yes, you can sort them practically any way ascending or descending. Try "user timstamp" and descending.
