Default Blackmagic help..?

Hey all,

Just got the Blackmagic Intensity Pro installed.... All's good except the picture is zoomed in so much that I'm losing about 20% of the picture all the way round on any of the settings available on either of the two screens I've tried....

Overscan...?

None of the settings on the Blackmagic Settings panel seem to deal with this...

Any thoughts?

What settings are people using on theirs...?

I'm using DNxHD codec, PAL, 24fps Video

Thanks in advance

Got it sorted.....

I'd accidentally loaded the H264 version of the video file, not the DNxHD one.

DNxHD and ProRes versions both play back as they should.

I'm surprised that H264 doesn't work as it should.... I know it's not a great format for most things, but I thought it would at least play at the correct size... Weird....!

I am actually having this issue with even standard dvpal files. None of the TV ratios solve this problem. It never happened on my older advc110. You play prores? It should be a very large file and heavy on the cpu.

I've found that Prores, although later in file size, is actually much easier on the cpu since it's easier to decode.

I usually convert everything to Pro Res to work with.

Yeah, me too... Or AVID DnxHD

Been running it on the Apple screen till today.

ProRes and DNxHD both seem to behave pretty equally.... Similar file sizes, and play nicely with PT.

So long as you have the video on a dedicated drive then it's problem free.

You can chose 16:9 or 4:3

How big is the ProRes or DNxHD file for a reel (approx 20 min)?

Ok....

Can you change the size of the image (re-export it smaller) in QT Pro?

There is a great app for finding file sizes. AJA DataCalc. I have it for iOS. I don't know if there is an android version.

Are you asking about HD or standard def file size?

A 20min PAL prores file with no audio is appx. 6gb
