Default PCI riser ribbons / cards?

My GA-EX58-UD4 motherboard has 3 PCI slots, however only 2 are adjacent so If I were to add a third card to my HD2 system, the third slot would be too far for the Flex cable to reach it.
Here's a thought: has anybody successfully used one of these PCI riser ribbons?

I have some space in my chassis so could probably squeeze in the third card closer to the first two. I'm only attaching the interface (HD Omni) to the core card so don't need to physically access the card.

What do you guys think?

I think the riser component will probably work, but I'm not sure about the motherboard architecture - mainly the slot not being directly adjacent to the next one. TDM systems have always been finicky about which slot is the "first" slot that the core card goes in, and I have a feeling that this will probably be the case here as well. Unless someone else has already done it and can tell you it worked, all you can do is try it and see if it works.

I can't comment on the first card bit. To the best of my knowlage the PCI and PCIe busses are completely seperate from each other from a DATA transmission point of view. So all one needs is a extended TDM cable. Card order non withstanding.
