Default Switching from Win to Mac

I have been a full year trying to get my system working with PTLE. My problems all started when I purchased this new PC.

Digi 002, PTLE7.3.1, ASUS A8N-E, AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+, 80G WD Sata 1 and 250G WD Sata 2, also 160G Seagate Barracuda Firewire HD, GeForce 6200 Video, DIgi approved fire wire card

I was very careful to get get DIGI approved components!! I have the most recent version of PTLE. I have done all of the things listed in the General Troubleshooting Guide. I have checked them twice!
I have been constantly getting errors. The most recent (9073) on playback. I haven't tried to record....What's the use?
If my last ditch effort does not work this weekend I must move on no matter the expense!

My Question.

If I purchase new PC, and I am very seriously considering moving to a Mac....I figure this is the most risk free option!!??
Do I have to purchase PTLE again ??? I hope not.

Have you REALLY done ALL the things listed? From the General Troubleshooting site:

- SiSoftware's Sandra Lite application can be used to post your full system profile:
www.sisoftware.co.uk
Under SiSoftware Sandra, click on "Download & Buy" to download the free Sandra Lite version or purchase other versions.

I'm not seeing any reason your current configuration wouldn't work either. I would post the SiSoft overview and see what we can figure out.

Macs simplify things, that can be a good thing.

You will not need to purchase a new version of PT as long as its over 7.1.1

A Mac would let check out Logic which has some nice features too these days

Before you spend a lot of money lets see if we can't get your current rig going

After reading some of the PTLE for Macs section.....they have just as many problems!!!

What is the most risk free purchase if I can't get this system to work. Desktop?? Laptop? Win? Mac? What is working really well?
