Default Logic Platinum!

Does anyone use Logic platinum? If so, how do you use it along with pro tools? Pros/Cons/benefits?

I've been hearing great things in articles recently (Radiohead, etc.)

Just curious,

Blake

Blake,

In what way are you wishing to use this? Just for sequencing or do you wish to use the Digi001 as the front end for LAP? It's a VERY good program, but very difficult to learn.

Logic audio platinum is a great software. I use it along with my Digi001 to produce all my songs and I love the combinations. The big pro is you now get 64 tracks of stereo 24 bits audio. Great plug ins. VST2. The best in midi editing....and Logic 5.0 for OSX is going to flat out rock. The con was that you couldn't use the midi ports on the 001 but it works now like a charm. No cons now!

kickin.Da.Speaker:
How do you combine the two programs? Are you using Logic just for midi or are doing some audio there too? Whats your procedure?
Just curious?

i just put logic platinum in my mac and the first time i cranked her up with the 001
hardware guess what? zero latency blew my mind to bad it's not really set up as a audio system' more for midi' but it beats the hell out of cubase! you can tell these midi programs are not made for audio by the stupid complicated way they handle
audio files.cheers

The UI for dealing with UI in Logic Audio is just crap. That's why I switched to PT.

I don't really care as much about all of the other features. I just need to record my audio, play with it on the screen and have it not crash.

I guess you can learn to use Logic to record audio like you can learn to cut your front lawn with hedge clippers. Just don't ask me to do it.

I used Logic Gold with an 8 in 8 out yamaha card for about a year and never got anything done with it. Although the system was higher spec'd and more expensive than 001/LE.

I don't even like it's interface for MIDI either. PT's is much cleaner, and now with the event list, I'm in heaven.

kickin.da.speaker.....
can you give some links to useful logic web sites...

by the way, you didn't answer the question...do you use logic just for midi and ptle for the audio part at the same time.

i am a very new logic user. the midi is incredible...but the audio, so far, is sucky,
too much file based crap.

also, how can i hear the effects while recording audio in logic? or is that ptle only?
