OWC Mercury Elite Pro drives now with USB 3.0
Just a heads up for those with the new Macbooks, upcoming new Imacs, and newer Windows users. OWC has just released an updated version of their Mercury Elite Pro "Quad" interface drives that now has USB 3.0 (backwards compatible with 2.0). It also still has the Esata port, and 2 FW 800 ports (instead of one 800, one 400 like the old one. You can still use an 800 to 400 adapter, if needed).
As most of you may know, USB 3.0 is much faster than firewire, and from early reports, seems to work fine with Protools. They also have the enclosure only version of this at the bottom of the page. Note that they are also still selling the previous versions as well: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firew...W800_FW400_USB For those of you with existing drives on a budget, don't forget they also have their USB 3.0 to Esata adapter as well: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/ADESATAUSB3/ |
