@nst7 Very, very good idea! Definetely will try this.

Thank you!
I spent less than $200 on a nice used set of Sabian cymbals and a used DW stand. Well worth it for me

I am recording all the 8 channels separately. One thing that I do to help is to record simultaneously the whole kit through SPDIF, which somehow emulates the room. I know you'll say it's impossible ...

What exactly are you doing here?

Are you sending the eight analog outputs from your drum's brain to eight separate channels on your DAW's interface while simultaneously sending the two S/PDIF digital outputs to digital inputs on your interface?

I'm not really familiar with Roland brains, but can you apply separate processing to each of the eight analog outputs?

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

I don't think you can apply separate processing, but after recording those individual tracks, he could of course apply plugins separately to each one.

I think the main issue is that up until just recently, the sounds built into these kits were like a typical drum machine, with no option for separate mic channels like overhead/rooms, etc. Now with the two new flagship kits just released (TD30KVS and TD30KS) they finally have these options, in addition to much better quality sounds (to the point that they rival the sounds in the best drum software).

That's exactly what I'm doing. And I wish I could afford Roland TD-30!
Not in this life.
