Default 002 dae errors, 8.04? Please help!

I keep getting this error report when I am recording.

DAE error -9073 DAE can't get audio from the drives fast enough. Your drive may be too slow or fragmented, or a firewire drive could be having trouble due to the extra bandwidth or CPU load

I have a Macbook Pro 2.8 GHZ, Digi 002 Rack, Glyph Hardrive

Should I just upgrade to ProTools 9?
