First of all, let me say that i really love Strike. The control over the subtle changes, tuning, complexity et cetera are really nifty.

But, there's always room for improvement.

New functions for Strike have been covered numerous times on different threads here at the DUC. And i guess the AIR Team are not far from introducing an update that'll amaze us (wishful thinking i know). But my wishful thinking has solid ground. Especially after RussUK mentioned that the AIR Team has really been listening to us.

Even so, here are my 2 cents:

- More expansion kits or Support for third party expansion kits (new sounds will be SO welcome!!);
- Proper support for time signatures other then 4/4th (see my videos below);
- a better Style Editor (e.g. modifier keys to switch tools and undo function);
- Support for importing Midi Loops (EZ Player already supports Strike so i reckon it shouldn't be too difficult to program);
- Seperate layers for the complexity hits instead of the pull down menu (opened via a triangle at the beginning of the track) makes editing easier.
- An easy way for removing and adding instruments from the kit in the mix section;
- It would be nice if Strike had a visible playlist for Verse, Chorus and fills for the Export MIDI function. Now you have to play them live wich makes it tedious to create a whole song.

Furthermore i haven't checked if all of these bugs are fixed that i reported (making use of videos) in this thread from a while ago: http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread...ortraws+Strike

Again, maybe we'll see an update soon that'll grant our wishes.

One can only hope, wait and produce great music in the meantime.

I'll add my $0.02 as well. These are good suggestions. Also:

I would love the ability to replace the individual sounds on the kit with my own samples.

The ability adjust the size of my kit easily and have the mixer automatically adjust accordingly.. (sometimes I might want 5 or 6 toms )

(and maybe it can already do this but I haven't sorted it out yet) When I write a midi file and send it back in on channel 2, I would like to send it to a kit of my creation or designation, not just the generic midi map.

I'd better work with it a bit more before I say too much more and look really dumb.

Peace!

Could the style editor be a bit larger with an option of selecting more than just one note? It would be nice to import midi to manipulate complexity and intensity.

A style editor where you could scroll through the whole song as opposed to in parts for those of us who lay down our parts and then go back and add hits and fills manually. Am i the only one that does this?

I'm somewhat similar... I'll write everything in Midi, basic stuff, then send to Strike via channel 2.. When I like the feel, I'll go through and add variance of playing, velocity, and write out fills.. When all of that is acceptable, I'll drop each instrument into its own audio track and go from there.

I'd really love to see an editor built into Strike that was similar to PT's midi editor. Expandable kits that would automatically add themselves to the mixer, assignable/replaceable samples for each drum, maybe a few other things.

Peace!

- Internal bounce feature within Strike with an option to bounce all drum tracks at the highest resolution (Even if all of the individual kit pieces are not set to the highest resolution)

- More control over amount of mics and placement.

- Option to add/import custom samples that can automatically be triggered from existing kit pieces. (i.e. Importing a custom snare sample that can be layered with and triggered by the Strike snare etc...)

- More control over internal fx and routing.
