I deliver to the client's spec. They don't hire me to consult. I'm pushing into a limiter.

I'm more interested to understand why the 'send' button in RX Connect can't send the audio to RX in floating point.

Part of being an engineer is consulting with and educating a client with whatever level of expertise you may have. I have yet to work with a client that truly understands delivery specs in over 30 years in the industry.

If your audio isn’t floating point to begin with then it makes absolutely no difference if RX Connect sends in floating point or not.

Thanks for your unsolicited advice. You seem to really want to be right about this but I'm not looking for an argument. I will deliver what my client asks for, submit the invoice and collect payment. You can enjoy being right!

As shown above, if you consolidate the edit before sending there's no dither applied. My preferences are set to 'Always use 32bit' when rendering.

It would be nice if the 'SEND' function in RX Connect were consistent with that. It's not something that keeps me up at night, just an observation and point of conversation.

I'm set to 32bit as well but I can not reproduce the noise. I can see it in RX but it's about 70dB quieter than yours. Mine measures @-138dBFs. Strange...
I make a zero audio clip. Add a fade and send it to RX with the connect plugin. RX shows -138dBFs where that "fog" is.
