also SOLO is good for looking for/at problems but you should do the EQing and any compressing listening to the whole mix so you can listen to how it all fits together

kick is the simplest thing to get loud and fat, use three different samples from house techno libraries, no need for plugins it's even better because they sound fuller with no plugs tweakening, it's a trick producers use since 20 years, just listen to fat boy slim records, real drum kick mixed with samples, so easy, just make a good choice of samples
