MBox2 Pro heavily distorted.

I hear the distortion through all of the audio outs regardless of the app running (Garage Band, iTunes, PT) including the head phone out. The only way to get the distortion to stop is to power off the Mac Pro and let the MBox2 Pro act stand alone.

Just did a full clean uninstall and reinstall, no change.

I also noticed that the CoreAudio Manager can not connect to the MBox2 Pro. ProTools will open up so I guess ProTools sees it, but the CoreAudio Manager does not.

I just installed the stand alone Core Audio driver on a Mac G5 I brought into the studio. I have the same audio distortion from this set up as well. Is there a firmware update/flash for this MBox2 Pro?

After letting the MBox2 Pro sleep all night. I booted up and opened iTunes. It all sounded great for about 45 minutes, then the distortion is back. How much does it cost to repair a MBox2 Pro?

What is the magical amount of time you have to be on tech support hold before you can speak to someone? While on hold I have decided to start looking for audio interfaces from other manufactures. Good bye MBox!

Over an hour now on hold. Is there anyone even at Avid to answer the phone? Hello!? Is there a super secret phone number I can call? Has anyone out there ever been able to reach these guys?

Fun fact about my telephone. It can only count to 99 minutes and then it starts over at 00:00.
