You right, but you don't have to like the idea of spending $20K and then find out that soon it's worth $5K.

Everything Jon said, and besides that I would like a dedicated box for the software to run on, instead of a Mac/Pc, so PT would get as stable as a dedicated HD-recorder because right now it just isn't. And navigation with the scrub wheel on the Pro C. instead of using the mouse, this is also a possible right now, but it's very poor implemented, especially when doing edits and you have to go constantly in and out scrub mode and losing your selections (maybe a functon which re-enables your last selection when you lose it, similar as in Soundforge). And believe me I have tried it several ways, but it isn't as intuitive as editting on a Fairlight or Augan using a jog-wheel.

But that's anything that's computer based. You gotta get used to that!

Anyway, I'm sure Digi will have a decent upgrade path.

I'm a little curious about this whole black box idea.

First off I don't believe for a second that that's what's coming.

Secondly guys, study the past. Think of all the Dedicated DAW that were ever created. Synclavier, Fairlight, Korg (I forgot the model).

What do all these things have in common. There all outdated. The mac gives you so much more and encourages other companies to make software.

I'll give my whole rig (888/24's, Mix+, Procontrol) away to the first bunch of musically inclined orphans I see and start over from scratch if digi will just make a friggin' keyboard shortcut for the "Bounce To Disk" function. How damned hard can it be?

Be careful what you wish for. The devil has a way with collecting on broken promises!
