002 connection issue

Hello i am running windows 7 64bit on a dell precision t5400 xeon.
I am trying to connect my 002 to my computer and i am having problems
first i have downloaded all the drivers i could find for it since i do not have a copy of protools when i look up the device in the device manager it comes up with a yellow exclamation mark and says not working properly i try to manually installing the 002 hardware drivers and i get a blue screen and my cpu crashes

I am wondering if i have the rights drivers or is there something i am not doing correctly ?

also i have downloaded and tried drivers 9 and 9.0.8
i am trying to setup the 002 for use with third party software that does use and accept asio .i have also had a mbox 2 hooked up with no problem and i have uninstalled those drivers as well to see if they conflict but still no luck can anyone tell me what they think i should do thanks

Did you download the latest drivers from here:http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...02-003-Drivers you shouldn't need Pro Tools for the device to work.

If that doesnt help, you might want to try a new firewire cable, or testing the 002 on another computer, and testing another firewire device on your computer (to rule out a hardware problem with the 002 or your firewrie adapter)

yes i have downloaded to different versions of those drivers version 9.0 and 9.0.8
also the firewire port on the computer in the device manager say the port is working only the 002 in the audio devices and remote control section the 002 has a yellow exclamation mark when i try to install advanced when i pick which driver to use it starts up the installation then half way through the installation the blue screen appears and cpu crashes i have also purchased two new cables different brands and hooked in at separate times the same thing happens

also i only have the mac as another computer will that work

tried the other cpu and 002 installed fine but still does not work on the windows cpu
