Default Timestretcher/Pitchshifter Blues

Gentlemen,

Often when using either the Pitchshifter or the Timestretcher to repair bass or stummed guitar segments, I get a strange kind of modulation of the signal, so much so, that the repair is rendered unusable. It's extremely frustrating to succesfully fix a bad note only to have the plugin mess up the sound. Does anybody else experience this modulation - for lack of a better description, and is there a way to solve it using the features of the plugins themselves?

Thanks,

Hello, geek

Well, I don't actually touch any of the other settings with either plugin. With the Pitchshifter I only change the Course and Fine sliders - I never bother the other stuff. Same with the Timestretcher; I only ever use the Ratio slider.

The funny thing is; if it's a single guitar note or a voice note, there's no problem, but I've never had success fixing bass notes or guitar chords.

On the Timestretcher, there are two sliders - Min Pitch and Accuracy - could they have something to do with this? Also, on the Pitchshifter there are controls for Reference Pitch, Detune, and Note; can they help solve the problem?

Thanks
