002 Won't Fire Up HELP

It's been in a bit of a cold but dry storagfe area for sometime and now when I power it up
I see nothing but the "mute" button for the monitor out illumunated??? This was an expensive
piece of gear and IT BETTER NOT BE DEAD!!! Anyone have any insight? I'm only tring to operate it in
stand alone mode, but none of the button illicit a response.

do a search for "Power Harness" issues -sounds like that's your problem- before that though, try changing your FireWire cable.
So. a search should give you all the info -also, try contacting your dealer.

there is little if any information on the "power harness" problem when I did a total forum search.
Sam Ash in NYC was my dealer, but that was like 3 years ago. What's the fix for the problem - and how do
I diagnose it?

The failure of the 002 to initialize properly is either caused by the power harness or power supply. There can be many other causes, but these are by far the most common. Call Digi and they'll send you a replacement power harness and installation instructions to fix it. Mine died the first week I had it. There are some here who have had the problem more than once. I don't think Digi will charge you but you'll have to check.

Thanks for the responses, I did a search on the web and it brought up some old posts that I couldn't
access through a direct search here. Anyway, I opened up the bottom cover pressed on all the
ribbon connectors attached to the power transformer and wha lah it works. This is really frustrating
considering how much this thing costs. A loose or dirty connection rendering a 2k piece of prosumer
gear useless?
