I think it's pretty freakin cool. high end cool even. not only does it have a User interface that's pretty cool but it actually also works.

Try automation on it. filter sweeps and high Q sweeping fx over the spectrum. It's pretty smooth imho , even at high speeds where a lot of others stay way behind imho. Colours and sound are a matter of taste and what you look for. But one can hardly say from this point on that the standard package doesn't include and excellent EQ and that the first thing one has to do is go out and buy some. I would definately dare to put it in the oxford / mdw league ... both in character and usability.

Also take a look at the dsp it uses. Pretty damn cheap, even @ 96k for a high quality eq plugin.

And the accuracy is there too .... making a little 0.5 or 1 db dip is actually audible .... something that cannot be said from some / even expensive ones.

Protools needed this imho. One expects from a full blown TDM system that a standard high quality EQ is present in the package.

Hopefully the dynamics are next.

Wow - I actually really like this EQ

I've spent this week comparing various setting on the Oxford, McDSP, URS, and Waves EQ's to try to get a handle on their differences... I'm really glad this one came along. The high end is what really impresses me. It isn't exactly the same as any of the ther EQ's, but I really like it. It doesnt smear like the RenEQ on the top end, but behaves more like the Oxford or even McDSP. These are my first impressions - it will definately become a part of my arsenal.

I did, and the DSP manager has been changed to 6.9 too.
