Default Waves 5 and PT7 - please clarify

Is it correct that Waves v5.0 (the same version I've been using with PT 6.9) will work with PT7 and the only benefit to the Waves PT7 update is for enhanced RTAS efficiency? My WUP is expired and I can live with less efficient RTAS performance in place of dropping $443 if that's the case.

Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to update to Waveshell 5.2 for free, even though your WUP is expired. Sign into your account and you should be able to find it under 'Downloads' in the left hand links list.

The PT7 Compatibility page on the Waves site says you need WUP to download the PT7 update, but I was able to download the Platinum 5.2 installer. Is there something else I'll need? Will v5.2 key off my current 5.0 iLok authorization?

Thanks for the help.

My waves update was free and I am not part of the WUP, but my waves worked without an upgrade anyway.

Can't find Restoration Bundle from version 5.2 downloads. And not from Version 5.0 downloads neither...

Version 5.2 of the restoration bundle is absent. However, the 5.0 version is there—you just missed it. (Third row, last item on the right.)

IHTH.

update to Waveshell 5.2
Isn't that only waveshell 5.0 plus APA? There's a separate updater for WUP'ed customers that upgrades the waveshell to PT7 optimised one. It's truly a WavesHell

by upping to WUP you do get the IR1 lite and Tune Lite alo. Both require WUP and an ilok authorization. Not sure its worth $443 for you - my platinum WUP was aboput $300 for 18 months. So I did it begrudgingly - however I did noty realize I did not have to do it to get V7 compatability until after the installs were made. Poop.
