This has been asked in different ways, but how are you setting your RAM timings? (I actually sent Corsair tech support a message and asked them where I should set things to.. It varied from the advertised timings.).

Also, are you using Turbo mode (or whatever they call it now) for the BIOS?

I wish I could remember all of the stuff I had to do with my i7/Win7 setup. I never did get it working right.. Even with new RAM, drives, everything but mainboard and cpu. It's still sitting on the floor unused. Mac Pro baby!

Have you configured your RAM according to the GA-X58-UD3R Rev.2 manual?

Try updating Pro Tools to the latest version. Pro Tools 9.0.2.

Try launching Pro Tools in ASIO mode.

Perhaps you would consider purchasing an Qualified PCI FireWire Adapter SIIG NN-440012-S8.

Also update Windows to SP1.
Sorry please explain what does FF with @BIOS mean?

@BIOS is the utility used to update the GA-X58A-UD3R Rev.2 BIOS. And you would require BIOS revision FF.

You should be looking at Gigabyte dot com. Select OS version and scroll down. It should be the only utility you have installed.

man i feel like you are goin' in a gazillion directions at once i suggest you look at the F/W driver first...then look at the more intense changes (like bios updates). and can i also suggest you write down what you are doin' and the changes you are makin'....total recall may be needed before it's all said and done
