M-Powered 7.3 will not install on Vista please help!

Hi all!

I have just got a new computer with Vista ultimate 32bit and cannot install my M-Powered pro-tools V7.3 on it as it's asking for XP service pack 2.

Does anybody know how i can get my Pro-Tools installed on vista? I know on the box it says 'system requirements XP' but i'm hoping Digidesign have a support file for this problem!

Vista requires 7.4

Look for the No Cost Upgrade 7.4 email that is sent to your registered email address after registering. If you don't own 7.4 you'll need to purchase it from the Digistore and can download it for the discount price 7.3 > 7.4 upgrade for $49.

I have LE 7.3? on my XP machine. I bought a new computer with Vista on it but could not (as explained above) install my kit and 7.4 was not yet available for LE. So, since I had an M-Audio unit around I bought M-Powered 7.4 for it and it works fine.

Now I would like to use my Mbox 2 with this sysem since it has digital i/o but I can't find drivers for it.

I have the m-powered iLock. One would think that would be enough to run Pro Tools. Sigh...

Any ideas?

Unfortunately MPowered and LE each require their own updates/upgrades.

Well sure but why can't I use a Digidesign device for sound output with a Digidesign software product? I have the M-Audio product too!

This product set is the most convoluted and hard to deal with even after spending lots of money to be legit.

How about a suggestion on a USB (or Firewire I suppose) box that has SPDIF output? I have a Mobile-Pre now though would be happy with using my Mbox2.
