Default Trouble Allocating more memory for PT7.4cs2

I am running 7.4cs2 on a G5pcix2.5ghz under os10.4.11. I just upgraded (cs2) and now I am unalble to allocate more than the default 125mb to the protools app. When I change playback engine parameters to increase memory, protools asks me to restart but it does not change the memory allocation. I have trashed all the digiprefs etc and repaired the preferences. What else should I do?
I had experience this same problem under 7.3 and it was only when I installed a new system and 7.4 did I stop experiencing this problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Forgive me but seem to have been pointed to a thread full of rudimentary suggestions that I have already pursued with to no avail. I am dreading my tuesday mix session which will probably be filled with glitches thanks to my inability to optimize my playback engine.

Is there any information I can pass on to the staff at digi that might assist in the resolution of this particular problem?

1 Trash all Digi Prefs etc using freeware utility
2 Launch protools and set new playback engine parameters
3 Restart machine (assuming you have increased the needed memory above the allocated memory)

This only worked for up to 225mb of ram if I tried to push beyond this it would default to 125mb

Any other solutions?

Bryce - how many cards do you have in your system, what type are they (Accel, Process, etc) and do you have any other cards installed or other devices attached?

We're trying to reproduce the problem and need as much information on your specific config as possible.

Thanks!

Digi Tech ... I have the exact same issue. 225MB is the most i can assign for PT also. My config is as follows:

MacPro 2.66 2x2 (quad)
5GB Ram
OS 10.4.10
PT 7.4cs2
Magma Chassis (the approved one in approved config)
(All PCI cards in Chassis - no other cards in CPU)
Card order - HD Core, Accel, Accel, Process

Same problem here with 7.4cs2- maximum of 125Mb whatever configuration you try.. when you reboot it just says that Pro Tools requires more memory than is available and then defaults to 125Mb. Reinstalling 7.4cs1 cured the problem for me.

OS 10.4.10
G5 Dual 2.0Gb PPC
3.5Gb Ram
Hd2 Accel PCIx

Yes, that's exactly what we're seeing. Apparently a component of a kext is not being renamed and updated properly. A clean uninstall and reinstall of Pro Tools should fix it.
