Default When Holding Down the 'N' Key Doesn't Do Anything

Yes, it's the dreaded 'AAE -error 6117' again. I can't open PT|First without getting caught in that Firsting loop;

Hit 'OK' and get this;

Hit 'OK' and get right back to;

No option left but hitting 'Quit'.

- Tried holding down 'N' (just) after splash
- Tried holding down 'N' after starting but (just) before splash
- Tried holding down 'N' while starting

It simply doesn't seem to do anything at all..?!

Additional measures;

- Reinstalled ASIO4All
- Reinstalled/repair-installed latest version of PT|1st

Still no dice... What am I missing here..?

NB - Please ignore system specs in sig, that's my day job rig. This is at home on Win 7 Home Premium 64.
