Good LinMB setting for strings ?
Mixing and mastering a classical piece I recorded today with 30 strings (violin, viola, cello & bass). Real strings, not keyboard. It's high pitch romantic strings. And I just wondered if anyone out there had a good EQ setting for it ? I thought about using LinMB, L2 and a touch of Revibe.
Hope to get some suggestion, as I have to deliever a master tomorrow Cheers |

Re: Good LinMB setting for strings ?
OFF!
Seriously that's a sledgehammer when a small camel's hair brush is the appropriate tool. I'd just use a touch of the best plate or hall reverb I had with all early reflections turned off. Depending on where it was recorded, you might need to roll off some traffic noise or HVAC rumble down below 50 Hz. but that should be about it for eq. unless there were big problems with the microphones.

Thanks, Bob. You're absolutely right. Good advice. I will do just that.
