Changing The Sample Rate
Hi,
I'm making a beat consisting of a drum and bass track which i recorded and a sample from a pink floyd song (Summer '68). At one point in this session I'm trying to "space" the pink floyd sample out by reducing the sample rate. In aaudio suite's "lo-fi" section i can change the sample rate. However i can only abruptly change it. Is it possible to slowly shift the sample rate down as opposed to suddenly changing it? If so, how?? I'm teaching myself protools so forgive me if my terminology is off or my question is unclear. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Dr. Buddha. |

Re: Changing The Sample Rate
try a filter plug instead instead. the sample rate corresponds to how many times the audio is "captured" or sampled over time. there are standard sample rates that we all use and pro tools supports. If you were to try to work in between these rates not many converters would know what to do for you. so no to my knowledge there is not a way to say go from 48k to 44.1 in increments of 1 sample. plus the math required to get your effect would be freakin crazy.

Re: Changing The Sample Rate
Thanks a lot for the response, brownie, but I don't think I'm being clear enough. When I'm in the lo-fi section in the audio suite, it says sample rate at the top. When I preview the effect, I can actively change the sample rate, however i can only process it at one specific rate. Is it at all possible to get the effect of me actively changing it??
If you answered my question in the last post forgive me lol I'm no expert. |

Re: Changing The Sample Rate
"What exactly do you mean by "space" the sample out? As in spacing, stretching, hallucinogens???"
