Monitoring Pro Tools with a Profile System
I just got thrown onto a gig using a Profile system with an HDx card to feed a Pro Tools computer in order to multitrack a large concert. I know the Profile has a headphone out so I can monitor what is happening on the board, but since this rig is only going to be used for the purpose of multi-tracking the event (there is a separate FOH desk/engineer) I want to be able to monitor what is happening in Pro Tools.
Is this possible without an audio interface attached to the computer (like a 192 or HD I/O)? Is there a way to simultaneously route a mix out of Pro Tools back to a pair of inputs on the Profile? Thanks! |

Re: Monitoring Pro Tools with a Profile System
Yes, you should be able to send your PT main output down two available channels on the HDx card, and in the patchbay section of the console go to the inputs tab. Then once under inputs tab you can take whichever two channels you like (say channel one and two for example) and assign them to the Protools HDx card. There is a Protools tab under inputs, and that is where you would assign your two channels to the corresponding channels you sent out of Protools down the HDx card.
