I've been aware of them for several years, and have read articles about them. They seem to be very legit, and a great service for people.

One of my friends did some work through them (beats and hip hop stuff), and was very happy with their services. I've heard good things from others too.

I've been a taxi member for about 10 years. I've found them to be legit. You buy a ~$200 membership per year, then submit tracks for $5 bucks a piece to various listings.

If the screener thinks the track is a good fit it gets forwarded along with your contact info to the company looking for the music. Then they decide if they want to use it.

I've had many "forwards," and signed a couple deals (licensing, music libraries, distribution) that I never would have had access to otherwise. My music is pretty left of center so there are not a whole lot of opportunities for me through Taxi.

If you happen to live in Hollywood you might not need the services of a company like Taxi. But for me living back in the woods in WA state, I don't happen to bump into music supervisors at the cafe so I'm going for it. Will renew my membership when it's time to again.

I've gotten mixed reviews of taxi from people I know, and some of that was coming from people who worked at taxi!! So YMMV. In the end there is no "ONE" proper way to get your music into the right hands.

Worst case scenario, you try it for a year and if it doesn't work for you, don't renew.
