PT does NOT thruput MIDI, until i goto OMS and "wake it up" HELP

When I pull up a session, and rec enable a midi track, it does not pass midi. I see no midi level meter in the track. Only when i go to my OMS setup and do a quick "test studio" to "wake up the midi", and go back to PT do I finally get MIDI thruput..
Anyone else experiencing this?

I have had this problem ever since I started using USB for MIDI (v 4.xxx and 5.0 and 5.01). My work around has been to
bend the mod wheel, that seems to wake it up.

Well, its been a few months on this one. For a while, it was working. Now on my second PT rig, Im having the same problem. I open up PT and midi does NOT pass thru a rec enabled midi track. Playing with the modwheel or anything else doesnt change anything. No midi meters in PT.
I have to go into OMS, "wake up" the midi by "testing studio" in OMS. Only then when i switch back to PT, I get midi thruput..

G4Port Serial Port going into MTP/AV

When I first had this issue on my other rig, someone emailed me personally, and told me how to fix it and it worked, but i forgot what is was..
Any help out there?

I have the same problem, not with PT but with Reason and Reaktor. I too am using a USB MTP AV. I f you find out how to fix this I'd love to know. Thanks. --wolfie

have the same problem only with my Jv-1010 sound module connected. I open oms setup and do a midi test and everything works.

In OMS midi setup, make sure "run midi in background" is checked...

I was reminded that , that was how i fixed it when i first had the problem...
