Default PT8 Won't Load, "Can't Find DD Hardware"

Installed fine. Won't load in. Keeps hanging on "unable to locate digidesign hardware." Restarted 4x's, still no go. Trashed the prefs etc like it told me to. Using a 003r, xp. Any ideas?? Never had this problem with any of the 6's or 7's.

Is your 003r recognized in "device manager."

Disconnect the 003 and use the uninstaller with your PT8 disk. The start the installer and attach the 003 when prompted. (Also, ignore any popups that show up after you attach the 003).

I always hate upgrades. Half the time they never work.

Which is why I always do upgrades to a cloned system drive. That way I can go back to work after a 5 minute drive swap. I feel your pain.
