PT 11 download okay, but edit issues...

Got a few tracks recorded, but when i went to edit, found that the quantize "apply" doesn't do anything, and i seem to be missing some plugins. I think I have been through the myriad optimization steps, and "troubleshooting" doesn't say anything about these issues. Should I re-install?

Welcome to the Forum

I would first start by checking that you have installed the Virtual Instruments and Air plugin file in your Avid Account as they are a separate download from the PT11 installer.

Secondly when quantizing a midi track / virtual instrument track you need to highlight the part on the track you wanna quantize and then click apply and that should definately quantize that part. If you are talkng about quantizing a audio file you need to look into using elastic audio and such funtions.
Post back so we k ow what you experienced with this.

the setup is sandra-pasted in my public profile - hope that works. I have used ProTools 8 "Essentials" so, though anticipating a steep learning curve, I'm not completely spastic about how this "ought" to work. After PT11 loaded from cd, found I could not record - somehow I figured out that I had to update my interface driver. Accomplished that but now I can't find any reason for the missing plugins and the quantize malfunction. I was about to re-install but considering the hoops jumped through just to get here it occurs to ask for help may be wiser.

Yes as i said, the plugins and virtual instruments are a separate installation and if they are on a CD or not they need to be installed as you won't have all the included pligins in pro tools so start by fixing that.

And the sandra report desn't list any external or internal drives or your interface so please post a complete sandra report with your harddrives and interface connected and post that here.

Thanks very much for your responses, Chris. I found the Air Collection and the Virtual Instruments was included in that download. (Haven't been back to see if the plugins are showing up yet - but I'm optimistic) I will take some time with elastic audio to figure out the quantize function. I made sure everything hooked to the computer is on and ran another sandra report, included below. Some of it is unintelligible to me, if you see something out of whack, I'd appreciate your input.
