Default choppy audio from itunes

Im sorry, I searched and searched and could not find a post concerning this

I am trying to get sound from itunes via my 002. I have installed the wavedriver, installed the rails app (and added itunes) and now the sound that I get is pathetically choppy and overall screwed up. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks..

In QuickTime increase the buffer size in the prefs.

Rail....I(and several others) have been having problems with every media player with the digi wavedriver. Could it be Win XP sp2?? or is the wavedriver just in need of an update??

My audio will play in any one of the media players, but the audio will have short dropouts or skips. I have tried several re-installs of the wavedrive. But any and all audio will play great in Sound FOrge 8.0, but will slip if i recorded with Sound forge 8.0. No audio plays in CD architect 5.2

Go into the QuickTime preferences and switch "sound out" from DirectSound to the appropriate WaveOut setting.

I think you mean this thread

All I can tell you is I have my buffer set to 30 msecs and 9 buffers and I have no issues whatsoever with iTunes.

I also have no issues with any of the Sound Forge apps using the WaveDriver.

It may be some other system or hardware issue on your computer. Also you're discussing the ASIO driver if you're recording.. and this thread is about the WaveDriver -- the two are completely different.

same thing I was thinking. I have to find time to go through all the settings and see what I can fix. But ya the ASIO driver for recording using S.F.

Sp2 here, too. PT 6.4.
Itunes, Sound Forge, CoolEdit 2000, Adobe Audition, Media Player, Winamp, CDArchitect, even audio from Iview... no problem.
All the way back to 5.3.
Had to adjust buffer settings to get Winamp and Quicktime working right with 6x, but, all in all, the wave driver has worked well for me.... through several varied systems.
