.wav files to midi?
Hey guys,
This might be a dumb question, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I have some drum samples in .wav format that I would like to use to program out some rhythm tracks. Is it possible to use them as midi in the midi editor? It seems like it would be so much more convenient to program as opposed to pasting a bunch of samples on different tracks on the edit window. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

Re: .wav files to midi?
What you need is a virtual sampler or loop playback virtual instrument so you can load the .wav files in. Then you trigger the virtual instrument with MIDI. You cannot drag audio into a MIDI track, and MIDI tracks cannot trigger regions on a Pro Tools audio track.
Instruments like Structure, Strike and Transfuser can help you accomplish this: http://www.avid.com/US/products/Pro-...Expansion-Pack http://imsproav.com/main/AVID99106167600.html

Re: .wav files to midi?
Thank you for the suggestions! I was hoping to not have to buy anything to be able to accomplish this. Any chance of maybe being able to import the audio into xpand!2?
