Have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers from MOTU's site? And does the Audio Midi Setup Utility see your Ultralite? You can launch AMS by going to Applications->Utilities->Audio MIDI Setup

Select the Motu as the device you want to use in the 'playback engine' and go.
