Profile and SC48 interchangeable? Preamps same?

Are the preamps the same in the SC48 as the Profile/Venue systems? If a vendor can't get my preferred Profile, will my IEM mix sound the same on a SC48?

I'm sure I can figure out the work surface, and I'm stoked the software is the same, but I'm wondering if things will sound different due to preamps or any other factor I haven't considered (I only use standard plug ins, and I use the AES jumper to make the stereo bus my cue/monitor).

This was covered in another post somewhere here, but I don't remember were. I do remember the bottom line was:
#1 - the preamps are not the same
#2 - in blind tests there was no audible difference

Thanks guys. Sorry I didn't find that thread in my search attempts.

So if I understand correctly, despite the way the gain steps may be different on the preamp hardware, the software will direct the hardware to give me the same end result, right? So my mixes/snapshots made with a remote stage rack will sound about the same when I move to either a mix rack or an SC48?

Sorry if this is redundant, but I might not have time for a sound check at a festival, so I'm hesitant to try something new...(to me).

The SC48 does NOT have the 8 variable groups. Aux sends 1 thru 16 should match across the 2 consoles, but the extra 8 on the Profile setup won't be available.
