Expected latency with software instruments
Hi, I have Protools M-powered 7.1x with a M-Audio USB Audiophile. It works great so far (without instruments) but at a 256 samples latency (5.8 ms), which is a lot I think especially when comparing Logic on Leopard with a Firewire interface where I can run stable at 128 samples or less... So what latency should you expect in Protools M-powered? What latency should I expect from a Firewire M-Audio interface instead of a USB? 256 samples is too much for software instruments I think so... How do I improve it? I cannot even see a option less than 128 samples in the program..? Does this mean this software is not suitable for software instrument? Latency is everything when playing software instruments. Anyone running stable at 128 samples? How? /floatingpoint_32bit |
