Default HELP!! quick question about digi 003 mixing board

hi everybody...

quick question.....from what i can see....the digi 003 mixing board only has one MIDI in....is that correct?? i have my midi controller in there already, but i wanted to try plugging my MPC 1000 in a MIDI IN port as well so i can try using the MPC as the master when synching to pro tools.....

would i need one of those MIDI sport adapters.....? (if there is in fact only one midi in....)

Please help!! I would be most grateful!!!!!

thank you in advance!

Well, since you're on a Mac, you might be better off with a midi to usb adapter straight to your mac. Works great, and you can then use the devices in other applications.

I used a midi merge box on mine until I needed more than 2 inputs. Now running an M-Audio Uno AND a Motu dual port USB box(can't remember the name on it). They all work great(still use the 003 midi in for 1 external device).

thanks guys!! but do any of you know if physically the 003 mixing board only has one physical MIDI IN? i believe it does.....also...once i get the midi merge box, what adjustments do i actually have to make in pro tools? don't you have to connect those little virtual midi cables within pro tools as well??

The 003 has a single midi input and 2 outputs. The only trick to using a merge box is to assign specific midi channels top each device/VI.
