Default Default Fade

Can I somewhere set a default fade length that will automacially create a fade whenever I make a seperation?

if we're talking "autofade" here then the setting is in "preferences" otherwise.. the default fade for "control f" is in the regular fades dialog. there is no auto fade applied when you make a cut.
