Default Track offset

Hi,
How can set negative value for track offset? I have an aux channel with total delay more than 4095, so i turn off ADC for this track and want to set offset manualy. But everytime i add " - " there`s an alert that value is less than minimal possible, or smth like that. Same with audio tracks. Can someone, please, explain how it works? Thanks in advance.

I may be misunderstanding the question, but have you tried the "shift" command in the "edit" menu? It will give you a choice of shifting either way and at sample resolution.

So is it a bug? In reference guide it`s all very simple and clear. Is anybody using manual track offset? Digi?

Hi,

This sounds like normal behavior, the Long Delay Engine (selectable via Playback Engine Dialog) has a 4095 limit at 44.1 / 48kHz. If you have a negative user offset on a track, we actually apply a positive user offset to every other track, behind the scenes. As an example, let's say that you have 2 audio tracks going to the same stereo output. Delay Engine = Long ( 4095 samples) Set the offset for Audio 1 at 4000 samples. Now, try to set the offset for Audio 2 at -96 samples. You should receive the error you are reporting. In order to negatively offset Audio 2, we'd need to positively offset Audio 1 by another 96 samples... but this exceeds the total comp available - hence the error. If Delay Compensation is already maxed out at 4095 you cannot set negative user offsets so trying to compensate for delays greater than 4095 samples will require manually shifting the audio.

Thanks,
