Hello,

I just upgraded to 7.3, did the uninstall and installed 7.3. When I try to open up a session or Pro Tools, the icon bounces on the dock for about a minute and then quits even before showing the HD 7 splash screen. I have even tried uninstalling again and installing. Can anyone help me out?

Hi,

Can you give more details!!

what version did you upgrade from?
which mac do you have and OS do you have?
Have you checked the 7.3 auth is on your ilok and your ilok is connected ok??
how much ram fitted?
is the Digi hardware connected ok and turned on??
as many details as you can!!!

Sorry bout that.

I upgraded from 6.9
I'm on G5 dual 2.0
2GB of ram
10.4.8 OS
The auth is on the iLok
Everything seems to be connected fine. I was opening 6.9 files just fine before I upgraded. Now I am regretting upgrading and spending the $200

Out of pure frustration and deadlines I decided to format my HD and do a clean install of OS and 7.3. Seems to be working fine now. I hope it doesn't happen again!

Hi,

Just out of interest, when you updated your Mac OS to 10.4.8 did you do the incrimental update or did you use the combo updater? its been recommended to use the combo updater!!

P.S. I would get some more ram for tiger and 7.3? 2 gig was fine for panther but tiger seems to be a ram hog, i'm using 5.5 gig now and it runs sweet.

I did the combo updater. SO far so good .

Thanks for the tip on the RAM, I might have to give that a shot

delete all the pref and digibase files
run permissions repair from disk utility
double check file access permissions on the app
