Default burning a disc with overlapping tracks?

hey guys, here's my problem...

I am trying to get the first and second track of a cd to overlap, so that the guitar ring out goes into the next track. I over lapped the stereo mix files in pro tools, and selected the regions, however, I am getting a pop where the second track starts (0 second gap). I know this can be fixed with a fade, but i couldnt get it to work. should i keep trying with different fades, or can someone point me in a better direction. a buddy recommended CD Architect and bouning as 1 track, then splitting it in there. I am on mac and thats pc...... I have toast 8 and didnt see an option to do that in there.

You can't split in Toast8. But, you can crossfade.
So just insert the 2 files in Toast8 and crossfade them there.

When making a gapless cd, the cuts have to be divisible by 588 sample blocks. That's cd redbook standards. If not, you get the pop.

Also, when you cut the region, zoom in as far as you can where you want to cut in waveform view, then try to cut at a zero crossing. that is where the waveform is at the line.... That should also remove the click if you get it right on the zero crossing.

I use CD Architect for this. Just bounce from pro-tools as one file, import into cd architect, put the cursor where you want and press "T" ...new track marker is created.
