Default Thinking of jumping PT10-12, need reassuring

My iMac serves as my only desktop, I use it for everyday things as well as recording.

I would like to jump from OS 10.8.5 Mountain Lion, to the new OS. (el Capitan or whatever they call it).

That would require at PT upgrade. I use PT 10.3.8 now.

I think I see that I can go to PT12 if I purchase a $100 yearly license.

If that's the case, I'm interested, but it seems too good to be true. I expected an upgrade to cost more.

Can I jump to 12 for $100/year?

Thanks a ton--

No the $99 upgrade is for PT11 (non HD) users. From 10 (Non HD), I think you'll need to purchase the $199 upgrade.

At the end of the year you can renew your subscription, or stay where you are.

And ... I haven't seen sooooo many users having HUGE issues on a OSX as El Capitan! You see a select few who can "use" their PT12 but the number of threads and posts on problems with that OS staggering.

10.8.5 is THE BEST OS and i would NEVER update that until I absolutely had to and that is a long time from now. U stable and buggy and crashes and glitches!

Two Words : STAY AWAY from El Cap and update for $199 and use the 10.8.5 as long as you possibly can

And make sure you can get 64-bit AAX equivalents of all your current plugins.

Thanks a ton for the replies and useful information.

Looks like I'll live with what inconveniences my old Apple OS has for now.

Thanks again--
