Default HELP: PT 12 Clocksource issue

I run PT12 using windows 7 with Digi 003 and Behringer ADA8000. I'm fairly new to this. My issue is that I cant change the clocksoure in PT12 to ADAT. The clocksoure is stuck as internal setting. I can see the drop down option but can't change it from internal to ADAT. Any advice?

@jeam25

I have toslink/optical cable well connected. The only switch that Behringer ADA8000 has is the sync swith which I have it on "Master 44.1khz," and connected to my Digi 003. Do you think my ADA8000 is just too old? I bought it used in 2011.

If the session IS running at the 44.1k sample rate, then I would recheck the lightpipe connections as one/both may not be fully seated(let's face it...those connectors are not exactly "robust") If the session is running 48K, the mismatch could be the problem. Another possible problem could be Windows trying to use the 003 as its default playback device. The solution for that is to change(in Control Panel>Sound>Properties) the default playback device to the on-board sound card.

You also have the option of using a WC(word clock) cable from the 003 OUT to the Behringer IN and leave Pro Tools set to INTERNAL clock, and set the Behringer to use external sync(which can also be done by adding a second lightpipe "cable" from the 003 OUT to the Behringer ADAT IN(which would also allow you to use the Behringer outputs to feed headphone amps)

Hey Dave! Thank you for your suggestion. I did need to tell windows to use on board sound card in order for the ADAT clocksource to sink. Thanks again!

Indeed...that bitter pill It seems that when Windows uses the hardware, it locks out every other program(like Pro Tools) I have been routing Windows audio outside my PT hardware for years
