You have to remember that Pro Tools 12 had just come out today. The process for supplying everyone who is entitled has just begun. Be patient. This happens for every new version of Pro Tools that has come out (I waited about 2 weeks before I got my Pro Tools 10/11 bundle as part of my 4 years of free upgrades)

If you read the bottom of the announcement.....

Quote:
Customers that Activate starting 3/23/2015 will see installers for Pro Tools 12.0 in their Avid accounts.
We are in the process of converting accounts for Pro Tools Software and Systems that are entitled to Pro Tools 12 and for Upgrade Plan owners.

Hopefully it won't take that long, but yes, there is a process to fulfilling upgrades as well as converting existing products.

I see, thanks. I can't seem to locate the announcement, perhaps it should be stickied.

I had purchased pro tools 10/11 bundle in september 2013 from studica…i remember in the receipt was a link http://www.studica.com/avid-academic-eligibility
which said clearly that i have 4 years of free upgades….so i contant avid and asked…..
i received an email saying this:Pro Tools 4-year upgrade for students are no longer offered when Pro Tools 11 is announced. This offer was started before when we released Pro Tools 9. This offer stopped on April 7, 2013 so unfortunately, you are not eligible for a free upgrade to Pro Tools 12. But you are still eligible for Pro Tools 12 upgrade for 99$ if you are still a student. You have an option if you want to have a monthly subscription or annual subscription. Below is the link for the student discounted price for Pro Tools 12:

Avid did announce the end of that plan but that doesn't mean that Avid will go back on their claim of free upgrades for 4 years. Avid will still honor the plan AS LONG AS YOU ARE STILL WITHIN YOUR 4 YEARS.

How. I have pretty much the same situation as post from Thanos4
and I just asked Avid about my 4 year FREE upgrades. After an hour of sending proof of my purchase and receipt that clearly says
"Avid Pro Tools 10 - windows/Mac DVD - Higher Ed Student Only (comes with iLok & 4 years free upgrades)"

They said they would open a case and then I received an email from them with this link
http://duc.avid.com/showpost.php?p=2...&postcount=197

What a bunch of boloney. How can they offer a 4 year free upgrade and renig on the agreement as soon as you buy it.
I am really not liking Avid's thinking these days, especially with they clone copy of Adobe to PAY per month for the use of their product.
I am really considering jumping ship and looking into Cubase.

I almost got ripped off by a huge reseller recently. I bought the student version of ProTools 9 with 4 years of free upgrades at the end of 2011. I was told by my sales rep at the reseller that I wouldn't be able to upgrade to 12 when it came out. Bullsh*t! I went to my Avid account and there was the upgrade. I now have 12.1 and loving it. As a musician that damn extra button (input monitoring) really came in handy. I was starting to learn LogicProX just because of that and VCA's came standard on LPX. It's a bummer that we didn't get the gain reduction meter option added on PT12.1 or VCA's but hey, they might surprise us... Maybe... Anyways back to topic, yeah, I almost got ripped a new one for $899. Oh man am I ticked off at these guys in Indiana. (See what I did there?) lol Anyways, I got my free upgrade. For the people having trouble, I guess get a copy of your receipt from your purchase and then send Avid an email with it. Should be on your purchase history tab if you have an account at your main reseller.

P.S.

Not all resellers make good on the 4 years of free upgrades. They might not be a legit Avid reseller. That might be an issue with a lot of people not getting their free upgrade honored. Worth keeping an eye out.
