Default running software without hardware

i have a digi 001 and am about to get a g4 laptop. is it possible to run my protools le that came with the 001 on my laptop for pure editing purposes and not recording?
any help would be great

Ah yes, the everlasting question.... No you cannot, PT free for OS9 only, will run without hardware. next stop the Mbox 2in-2out...

PT free is the only way. You need to see compatability for OS

If he's getting a G4 laptop, I don't think they will boot into OS 9 which is the only OS PT Free runs on, so that rules that out!
